HOT CHOCOLATE ON A STICK

Makes: 15 servings
Takes: 3 hours
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 18 ounces chocolate (I used a combo of semi-sweet and dark)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 candy canes, chopped (optional)
Supplies:
  • Wooden sticks or stirrers (that won't melt in hot liquid)
  • Cellophane bags
  • Twist ties
  • Silicone ice cube tray
  1. In a double boiler, melt the chocolate and vanilla over simmering water. Stir until fully melted.
  2. Meanwhile, sift confectioners’ sugar into cocoa powder and salt in a large bowl. Whisk to combine.
  3. Remove melted chocolate and combine with dry ingredients. Mix until smooth and evenly incorporated.
  4. Add even amounts of mixture to each cube, flatten and add candy cane toppings if using.
  5. Add sticks to the center of each cube and place tray in the refrigerator for a few hours to chill.
  6. Remove cubes from your molds, wrap, and store at room temperature.
  7. To serve: stir one cube into 4-6 oz of warm milk.
